What is OpenSource?

OpenSource is a decentralized development platform that extends Git version control with blockchain-based ownership and automated payments. When developers push code to repositories, their contributions are permanently stored on Arweave and recorded on-chain, creating an immutable history. Project maintainers can optionally fund repository treasuries with $OS tokens to automatically compensate contributors when pull requests are merged. This creates a transparent, verifiable system where code ownership is cryptographically proven, storage is mathematically permanent through Arweave's endowment model, and payments flow directly from projects to contributors without intermediaries.

Core Components:

  • Smart contracts for repository ownership and automated payment distribution

  • Arweave for permanent code storage

  • $OS token as the payment mechanism between projects and contributors

  • AI engine for code quality assessment and contribution valuation

  • Git synchronization for gradual migration from existing workflows

How It Works

The platform operates through a simple flow that developers already understand. Connect your wallet to establish identity, create repositories for free, push code using standard Git commands, and receive automatic token rewards.

Process Steps:

  1. Connect Web3 wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.)

  2. Create repository

  3. Upload Code

  4. Smart contracts calculate rewards

  5. Receive $OS tokens instantly

Key Features

OpenSource provides everything developers expect from modern platforms plus blockchain benefits. Full Git support means no learning curve, while permanent storage ensures code survives forever.

Platform Features:

  • Unlimited repositories

  • Pull requests and code review

  • Issue tracking and project management

  • Automated CI/CD integration

  • Team collaboration tools

  • GitHub bi-directional sync(optional)
